Just a baseball rant
Maybe this is new to me since my Brewers have never been this good in my lifetime. But why is everyone hating on them, or more specifically, why does everyone hate that they’re having a good time? I was a little upset watching Baseball Tonight because they asked “Are the Brewers taking things too far?” in regards to beast mode and the infamous T-Plush. Seriously? That’s even an issue? What is so terrible about a team having fun winning games and being the best team their city has seen in over 20 years? If they were offending other teams by taunting or teasing them, then I could see the problem. But they’re not doing any of that. They’re not showboating, they’re simply celebrating amongst themselves. It’s not like they’re going all “beast mode” to the other team’s dugout. They’re doing it to their teammates. Call me uptight, but I think this is just crazy. Is every baseball analyst and major league coach against fun? That’s sure what it seems like. What ever happened to a group of guys just enjoying playing great baseball?

Baseball is full of “traditionalists”. And Baseball Tonight is no different. Personally, I think it is harmless and not meant to show up the other team. However, if I didn’t know the backstory I might feel different. If this were the Cardinals doing something similar (and kicking my team’s ass all over the field) I probably wouldn’t be so understanding. Finally, I’m not a huge fan of how “beast mode” is being used. After a big RBI or HR, fine. After any routine single or double or if they are up 9-2, I wouldn’t mind a bit of toning down. They are having fun and I think it is great, there hasn’t been a Brewer team like this in a very long time, if ever. They have a real shot at doing something special (hell, even winning the division would be special for a team that hasn’t done it in almost 30 years), and I wouldn’t let a few people offering dissenting opinions of the Crew ruin your day. 10 GAMES UP!!!!
